TIPS FOR BATHING @ HOME BEFORE YOUR GROOMING APPOINTMENT
  1. FIRST gently clean inside each ear with a specific Veterinary Ear Cleaner or hyperallergenic fragrance free baby wipes .
  2. WET Your dog all over with warm water. Your Golden will need a prewash with warm diluted shampoo to cover the dog completely , work in the shampoo all over the dog .
  3. Next a thorough warm rinse to get rid of the grease and dirt in the coat,  then massage in a second shampoofor 10 minutes –  with special attention to the head  / face / cheeks / skull / ears  / chin / plus the throat /  neck / collar line / chest / armpits / undercarriage underneath / groin / belly /  trousers / legs /
pasterns / all four feet / toilet areas / bottom and tail ….. so not just the back and body !!!
  4. Rinse till the water runs clean and ALL bubbles are gone
  5. Cover the whole dog in conditioner and work it through the coat , before rinsing off thoroughly with warm water.
  6. Follow with  a 3rd shampooand massage. Use a rubber zoom groom or your fingers to work through the hair all over , make sure you systematically go over every area of the dog.
  7. Then a thorough warm rinse to rid of every trace of shampoo  and to drag out any dead hair. Rinse , Rinse , & Rinse again !!
IMPORTANT  to check no soap bubbles left to irritate the skin .
  8. LASTLY end with a cold water rinse to shut down the hair shaft , and close the pores of the skin. Rub Dry your dog with towels and get him/her used to the noise and sensations of using a hand held blow dryer or high velocity megablaster work the coat, blow out undercoat and aim to dry flat and not spikey !!
